2020 Season Strength Of Schedule: Running Backs
Welcome to part II of the positional strength of schedule (SOS), which is based on fantasy points allowed for the 2020 season, not winning % like your standard SOS!
We’ll be getting right to the point as I know you are here for the GD data.
Data Model:
Position: RB
Based on 2019 fantasy points allowed by opposing defenses per game
PPR Scoring
Quads are grouped by teams of 8
Quad 1: Teams 1 to 8 that allowed the most fantasy points
Quad 2: Teams 9 to 16
Quad 3: Team 17 to 24
Quad 4: Teams 25 to 32 that allowed the least points
Ranking is a weighted scoring system based off-tiers. Average points allowed (most to least) is the tie breaker.
Highlighted cells for each quad means that team has 5 or more games against defenses in that particular quad
I.e. Indianaplois has 6 games against Quad 1 defenses. These are the top 8 defenses that allowed the most points to opposing RBs
The SOS is for your own digestion and a tool for your research.
I’ll however provide a few highlighted thoughts in each series post:
Indianapolis, Los Angeles Rams, and Kansas City: All three teams have talented rookie RBs. Based on your average ADP across all platforms, Jonathan Taylor (IND) is being drafted in the third round; Clyde Edwards-Helaire (KAN) in the second round; and Cam Akers (LAR) in the sixth round. Both KAN and LAR have top 5 most difficult schedules for RBs. Meanwhile, woooweee, look at Indianapolis at the top.

The top 6 running backs being drafted in order of their ADP: Christian McCaffrey (CAR-T-20th), Saquon Barkley (NYG-31st),Dalvin Cook (MIN-2nd), Ezekiel Elliot (DAL-26th), Alvin Kamra (NOR-18th), Derrick Henry (TEN-6th). It’s one thing to have a horse, it’s another to have a horse with open lanes and room to run. Dear Dalvin Cook, please sign a deal so I can begin drafting you ahead of Saquon again. Thank you.
Jacksonville (JAX): The uncertainty mounts on Leonard Fournette and his 2020 outlook with Jacksonville. Due to the uncertainty, Fournette is being drafted in the third round. Let’s play the IF game. IF, he receives a workload in 2020 like he did in 2019 (massive), he will voluming the F out against soft opponents. That’s enticing.
That wraps up part II.
