A Few Fantasy Thoughts For The NFL Draft

Oh. Hi. Here are some final fantasy football-esque thoughts ahead of the NFL draft on Thursday. Which is in Cleveland, by the way. I’m going to be up there, by the way. Aren’t I just so cool.

  1. Where will Kyle Pitts go? Pitts is so friggin’ good & transcendent that any team’s front office could fall in love with him, starting with Atlanta at No. 4. Forget what you heard about rookie TEs, this guy could break the mold.

  2. The Bengals should, like really really really should, go offensive linemen at 5, but again, if Pitts is there, they may be wiping the drool from their mouths, or they could even go Ja’Marr Chase to feel hip. If they do go Pitts or WR, so long to Tee Higgins’ 4th round average draft position (ADP).

  3. More trade-ups for QBs? The Broncos, Patriots, & Panthers are the three teams that could really make a big move up for a quarterback. The Broncos especially feel like a team that’s kicking themselves for being outmaneuvered by the 49ers, since the rest of their roster, most notably their skill guys, are win-now quality. I just can’t see them sending Drew Lock out there for another year. Similarly, the Patriots’ free agency aggression could carry over to the draft, where they have some capital to work with if they want to trade up (Trey Lance?), and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Panthers owner David Tepper bring some of that “I WANT IT NOW” hedge fund mentality to this draft.

4. Galaxy brain thought: Rondale Moore to the Cardinals. If the Cardinals struggle this year, Kliff Kingsbury’s seat will be hotter than… idk I just sat here for 10 minutes and didn’t think of anything clever but his job status will be in question and Stephen A. Smith will be on TV talking about it. I could see them juicing up their offense to try and take the air raid to the next level in Kyler’s third year, and Rondale Moore would be an interesting choice. He would give them another slot option, along with a player who could play some RB, which they will need when James Conner gets hurt again. Moore may even be there for their mid-second-round pick.

5. It sounds like the Steelers are really gonna take a RB. It’s sad, because that would mean they think they can compete immediately, and they can’t. They suck. People (The Beaver) may not realize it, but they suck. They should draft a quality offensive lineman to start building for the future, or, hell, maybe even a quarterback?! But Vegas says they’re likely to take a RB, and it’s not hard to see them being like, “Rrrrr Najee Harris feels like a Steeler, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.” They suck. If they don’t go RB, however, it’ll be rocket emojis for Anthony McFarland. Same goes for Myles Gaskin if the Dolphins don’t take an early RB.

6. Speaking of skill guys who could go late in the first round, I want to see if the Packers draft a WR with their first pick. It’d be cool if they went with a speedster to line up across from DaVante Adams, like Kadarius Toney, or even a more complete player like Terrace Marshall, because that would instantly make one of those guys fantasy viable. The Titans are another team that may take a WR, and it’s probable the Ravens will also take a wideout… and immediately ruin their career. As for running backs, the Buccaneers may believe they have the luxury to take Travis Etienne at the end of the first round to serve as their three-down guy, and fantasy players will also be monitoring the Falcons’ early second-round pick, because right now they basically have Mike Davis at RB and that’s it.

Okay, I’m tired and I quit. As I said, I’m going to Cleveland for the draft, so hopefully I’ll have some #cool #content from that. I’ve started dabbling with TikTok and even Snapchat more because I’m a loser.
