The Prodigy’s Betting Picks For UFC 261
I was excited to make the trip to Jacksonville to see UFC 261 in person… until I was greeted in the parking lot of my hotel by gunshots and a cocaine deal. Plus blood-stained sheets in the room. Not sure what was happening there, but we just decided to get an Airbnb instead. Anyways, let’s get on to some betting picks for the UFC 261 card: Three Title fights, first time with a live crowd in over a year, and I just happen to be going. LET’S FUCKING GO.
There are many bets that I am liking on this action-packed card. Starting off, Usman is most likely gonna wrestle Masvidal to another decision win, so that is a strong bet. But I would not be shocked if Masvidal has a flash KO, just because he has top 5 boxing in the UFC. He has been training with Bo Nickal (Penn State National Champion Wrestler), though, so that makes things a little interesting for the first event. Although I would love to see Masvidal beat Usman, I am gonna take Usman here. (Great value on Masvidal if you think he could have a strong finish. Note: He looks more lean than last time.)
Next, Weili Zhang vs my homie THUG ROSE!!!!!!!!
Weili Zhang is a badass who has great striking and a tough chin. THUG ROSE was a former champion and also has a very unorthodox style of striking and great wrestling. I believe THUG ROSE has great Vegas value to bet, but as some say, you have to finish a champion to be the champion. I think the public could see Rose winning a decision, but I could see the judges giving it to Weili just because she is the champion. Let me rephrase that: If the fight goes to decision, Weili is winning. Wouldn’t be shocked if ROSE has a finish if she can get Weili to the ground, that is the unknown variable in the fight.
UPDATE: Rumors circulating that Zhang doesn’t look as healthy because of weight cuts.
Lastly for title fights, Valentina “The Bullet” Shevchenko is taking on Jessica Andrade. Valentina is a BAD MOTHER FUCKER. She is arguably the most dominant fighter in the UFC besides Amanda Nunes. With her having a 4.5” reach advantage and a 4” height advantage. I still believe Valentina will win because when she feels she needs to control the fight due to danger has outstanding grappling and wrestling, so I believe she will just lay on Andrade if she gets tagged, but it is not out of the question that Andrade could land a perfectly placed nuke and put her to sleep. I’m taking Valentina as a lock in all DFS formats and bets, placing a small bet on Andrade due to value.
UPDATE: Valentina has been noticeably slowing down over her last few fights and that is one way I could see Andrade possibly taking the dub, but only if her cardio outlasts Valentina. I’m starting to like the value on Andrade a little.
Other UFC 261 Bets:
Jimmy Crute - Although this is a step up in competition, love his grappling heavy style with 4+ takedown average per fight. Got him winning this.
Patrick Sabatini - Love his wrestling style, likes to smother opponents and dog them wrestling to get them tired then finish the fight. Favorite DFS captain that is going to be semi-low owned. Great ML bet.
Liang - Although I am predicting a finish from Carnelossi on the feet, it could also be a finish by Liang of the ground. These fighters are complete opposite with Liang being great on the ground, and Carnelossi being a stronger stand up fighter. Great value on Liang, that's why I will be taking a stab on it, but also be taking a stab on Carnelossi by TKO/KO. Fight is -250 to not go to a decision.
Hall - I am taking hall in a ML win this fight, as Weidman has shown time and time again he has a weak chin, and has also aged A TON since he's proved anything.
Vargas - GREAT UNDERDOG, was smashing Brock Weaver until he got DQ from illegal Knee. LOVE the value but wouldn’t hammer it.
